Czech for foreigners

I know you can do without Czech, especially if you live in Prague, people speak English. But does is feel all right? Living here, working/studying here but not being able to order a drink or get a taxi home? You can have only a few lessons (to make sure you survive without being robbed by taxi drivers etc.) or you can become a confident Czech speaker (and perhaps get a better job or get more friends).
